2010 Freestyle Results

Originally called for Horseshoe Wave, the 2010 Freestyle competition, sponsored by Valley Mill, had to be moved at the last minute (early Sunday morning) after the river came up a bit unexpectedly overnight. With the help of modern communications technology and very flexible volunteers, it all got sorted out.

2010 Boatercross Results

Boatercross was the last event of the 2010 Potomac Whitewater Festival, and once again it was a huge success.  Eighteen competitors met for the pre-race meeting at the rubble dam, including five women and a river boarder.  The river board technically exceeded the 7'0 boat length requirement, but Luke was allowed to compete because he had a severe disadvantage at the upstream gates and the s

Calhoun Edges Parsons and Beakes

One second separated 1st from 2nd place, and 2nd from 3rd in the 2010 Great Falls Race, sponsored by Jackson Kayak. Geoff Calhoun edged Olympian Scott Parsons and 2009 Great Falls Race champion Jason Beakes by the slimmest of margins for the long boat class and overall win.
