2010 T-Shirt Design Contest

Our 2010 T-shirt design contest winner is Brent Long! Congrats Brent!

Brent designed Option 1 below, and had this to say about winning:

In the late fall of 2005 I was hiking with some friends on the billy goat trail near the Potomac and we stopped to watch some guys going off the falls in their boats.  I thought to myself, "I have to learn how to do that!"  So I took my first kayaking class with Liquid Adventures in 2006, and have been running rivers ever since.  I have yet to run the falls, but someday maybe I'll be good enough to enter the race!

Being a video editor, I don't have a ton of print design experience. But it's always easy to find inspiration when you're designing for something that you love to do.  When I designed this, I wanted to show how small we are when compared to the power of the mighty Potomac....and at the same time, I  only used black and white silhouettes to blend the paddlers into their surroundings, like they belong there. Anyway, it's a great honor to have my design on the Potomac Fest shirt this year and thanks to everyone for voting for it!

This year we invited creative people to submit designs for the Potomac Festival T-shirt. From the submissions, the Festival organizing committee selected the top four designs.

We then asked members of the boating community to vote for their favorite design. The artist whose design finishes with the highest average rating will have his or her drawing displayed on the Potomac Festival T-Shirt, and will win a $200 voucher towards any lessons or kayak trips from Liquid Adventures Kayaking School.
